We bought this book for our second trip to the Canadian Rockies. If you are planning to make a tour around the Canadian Rockies and like to see only the very best hikes (still enough hikes you can’t complete even if you would spend a month in the Rockies) then this is your book. Nicely done is the way they keep the hike description brief but spot on, the exact information you are looking for without having to read too much.

Another nice feature is the way they described the main decision points during the hike (junctions, etc) in combination with a numbering system in the detailed maps. Each hike includes its own map and it is the first book I see that has really done a great job to ensure you always know where you are. The book is well designed with marvelous pictures. For each hike you can find all necessary key information such as total hiking time, distance, elevation gain, difficulty rating, etc. For some hikes they added an elevation profile graph, which I truly like as you can see in a glance at which point the hike might be challenging in terms of going up and down.

So in short, with this book in the backpack, just enjoy your hikes and see the best of the Canadian Rockies.
